Two of the biggest names in Christian rap are coming in hot with another RIAA certification!
Lecrae and Andy Mineo can celebrate the enduring popularity of their collaborative single “Coming in Hot” as it recently passed the threshold to become a certified platinum hit! The song was originally released in 2018 as part of Reach Records’ Summer Eighteen playlist before also appearing on Andy Mineo’s Never Land 2 in 2021.
“Coming in Hot” previously achieved gold status in 2021 after becoming massively popular on social media, particularly on TikTok and Instagram Reels. The track first saw a surge in popularity after Will Smith used it in his first-ever TikTok post, then went on to become the second-most-used song for Instagram Reels in all of 2021, including uses by everyone from Kim Kardashian to Lebron James to Common. All this buzz led to the release of four remixes in May 2021.
As we now know, “Coming in Hot” was destined to be more than gold. The single marks Andy Mineo’s first platinum hit and Lecrae’s second, after 2020’s “I’ll Find You” featuring Tori Kelly.
