Lecrae

We’re kicking the show off with Lecrae news. He recently appeared on CBN where he spoke about his next album Restoration. He said it’s coming before the end of the year or early next year. He’s what he said about it.

“I’ve really truly been restored. God has done some restorative work in my life over the last few years. I’ve gone through a lot of turmoil and pain behind the scenes and people they know some of it but they don’t know how it truly affected me and my family and so a lot of that will be shown. And people will be able to see that some relationships have been restored, some perspectives have been restored and my faith has definitely been restored.”

John Crist

Our next story comes as a shock and is a cautionary tale of crashing down from the top. Just a few weeks ago we spoke about comedian John Crist, one of the top entertainers in the Christian industry. He had a No. 1 CHH song on radio, he was out on tour, and he had a Netflix special coming out on Thanksgiving. Well, all of that is gone now. Last week Charisma News posted an expose of an article featuring 6 women who claimed John sexually manipulated, harassed, stalked, and/or tried to take advantage of because of his celebrity. These accounts had been happening over the years and the article took 9 months to write.

John admitted that not all the allegations are true, meaning “some of them are” which certainly is enough. Here’s some of what he said:

“Over the past number of years, various women have accused me of behavior that has been hurtful to them. While I am not guilty of everything I’ve been accused of, I confess to being guilty of this—I have treated relationships with women far too casually, in some cases even recklessly. My behavior has been destructive and sinful. I’ve sinned against God, against women and the people who I love the most. I have violated my own Christian beliefs, convictions and values, and have hurt many people in the process. I am sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused these women and will continue to seek their forgiveness. I have also hurt the name of Jesus and have sought His forgiveness.”

nobigdyl.

nobigdyl. dropped his long-awaited LOWERCASE TAPE. It charted in the top 10 of iTunes, leaked on DatPiff, and pretty much had everyone buzzing. The mixtape is dyl poured out and opened up on every line. We also have a breakdown by Cooper Short about the art of the mixtape and dyl killed it here. Go check it out!

Wrap Up

1K Phew said his mixtape with WHATUPRG is coming soon at his album release show. It may be called Two Birds One Stone. No word on whether RG’s stolen hard drives will affect this.

Speaking WHATUPRG, he just dropped a music video for the song “Glory” featuring GAWVI. We have that on the site as well.

Kanye West dropped his music video for “Follow God” on Friday. It’s pretty simple, just him and his dad bonding on Kayne’s ranch, but the message is strong. Watch it on Rapzilla now.

We have an interview where Jered Sanders talks about GOM being like Christian rap’s Slaughterhouse. If you don’t know Slaughterhouse, they are collectively the deadliest lyrical emcees in rap. He feels that GOM fits that bill on the CHH side.
