Beanies & Snapbacks ‘Brim Stare’ Bar Breakdown Devotional

We are here with another Bar Breakdown Devotional. Today we’re touching on “Brim Stare” by Beanies & Snapbacks (Soy Is Real & Knaladeus) and relating it to scripture.

“Still deny the bread of life this world leaves a stale taste”

This is a reference to John 6:51 – “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

We see here that Jesus elaborates on the fact that our spiritual hunger is satiated by “eating” the bread of heaven. While not literal, when we “eat” the bread of life; that is Jesus, we are given a spiritual satisfaction that the world could never hope to give us.

We can delve even further into John 6:54-55 – “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.” Just as we eat and drink when we hunger and thirst for nourishment for our stomachs, we eat and drink God’s word and promises to nourish our spirits and hearts.

Worldly ideals and convictions become stale quickly, despite seeming like fresh wisdom; especially in difficult times. God’s word, however, never spoils or becomes stale and remains true at all times.
