Angel Studios Announces New Anime ‘Gabriel and the Guardians’

Angel Studios, renowned for its blockbuster TV series ‘The Chosen,’ which chronicles the life of Jesus and his apostles, as well as other popular shows like ‘Tuttle Twins’ and ‘Wingfeather Saga,’ has exciting news to share. For those not yet acquainted with the concept, Angel Studios provides an avenue for individuals who have previously invested in a project or subscribed to a $20 monthly plan to participate in the review and voting process for submitted projects, determining whether they should be greenlit for production.

Having been personally involved in the voting process for a torch project around this time last year, I’m thrilled to learn that Angel Studios has introduced the “Express Interest” option. This allows all projects (referred to as “torches”) to initiate interest and engage potential investors before official funding opens.

Now that you’re up to speed on how this works, here’s the exciting part: Angel Studios has just unveiled a brand-new anime series titled ‘Gabriel and the Guardians,’ an action-packed allegorical fantasy anime inspired by the Book of Genesis.

The project’s inception dates back to the pandemic when the artist embarked on the journey and, influenced by his children’s love for anime, delved into the world of anime production. He returned with a vision to create an anime series devoid of dark undertones, focusing on instilling hope where it’s often scarce. Notably, Angel Studios recently announced that Jonny Yong Bosch, a seasoned anime voice actor (check out his impressive credits on IMDB), will lend his voice to Gabriel, the series’ main character. It’s a thrilling revelation; we’ve got a Power Ranger on board, folks!

Speaking of anime, one thing they consistently excel at is delivering remarkable theme songs. Remember the unforgettable hip-hop soundtrack of ‘Samurai Champloo’? And who can forget the iconic ‘Dragon Ball Z’ theme, ‘Head-Cha-La’? Personally, I’m excited at the prospect of seeing QEW team up with Tweli.G or Tim Nu, although I can’t confirm if Angel Studios plans to venture down the path of a captivating Japanese/English theme song. Nevertheless, I firmly believe it’s a move that’s long overdue and absolutely essential.
