Throwback Thursday: J.R. ‘Not A Slave’

This Throwback Thursday takes us back to 2007 when former Cross Movement Records artist J.R. put out the music video for “Not A Slave” off the record Life By Stereo.

J.R. (Courtney Orlando Peebles), is also known for his collaborations on hooks with Da’T.R.U.T.H. and FLAME.

That 2007 record with Cross Movement was his last on the label and he has since moved on as an indie artist.

This weekend (July 21-23), The Cross Movement, will be performing a reunion show at the Legacy Conference. Their first performance in nearly 10 years. Read about it here

While the Cross Movement has laid largely dormant for the better part of a decade, their impact on Christian Hip-Hop goes far beyond their own music. With their label they helped introduce the world to future talent such as Lecrae, Da T.R.U.T.H., FLAME, R-Swift, K-Drama, DJ Official, and countless others.
