Brother 3 on his song ‘Homeless’, helping launch Familyhood Ministries

At Legacy Conference 2016, Rapzilla Freshman Brother 3 shared the heart behind his song “Homeless”, track No. 3 of his StrangeLand EP which he released a music video for last month.

“[‘Homeless’] just comes from a place that everything that’s going on around us, everything we’re seeing, we can get so caught up in it, and it can cause division,” Brother 3 said. “We miss that this is not where my home is. I’m just really passing through this place. I think if we can keep that in mind, we can deal with the issues that are right in front of us, either more accurately, according to scripture and more lovingly if we just know, ‘I’m passing through here. I’m an alien to this. Jesus is coming back, and one day I’ll be with him.’ That’s really what that song’s about.”

Brother 3 also introduced Rapzilla to the new Chicago-based nonprofit of which he is the director of operations, Familyhood Ministries.

Our Mission is to restore hope in families and renew hurting communities by embracing and embodying God’s design for the family.

Our Vision is to provide practical training, intervention where necessary, and facilitate spaces where parents and children can come together to abound in love and to reconcile and grow as family units. Strong urban families will provide a critical foundation for the neighborhoods in Chicago and ultimately for the broader culture to thrive.
