WHATUPRG Drops His 4-Years-in-the-Making Masterpiece ‘New Hollywood’

WHATUPRG has been talking about his New Hollywood project since 2019. Then tragedy struck, and a hard drive containing the project along with many other possible albums was robbed from his car. This process would enter RG into a process of refining and reworking.

WHATUPRG“…The Atlanta rapper, producer, and designer has been channeling fire—the fire burning at the White House leading up to the Capitol riots, the fire burning California in the great blaze of 2020, and the fire burning at the border where the nation saw children left in cages, separated from their families. Taking this all in produced a burning inside for RG who has been processing his own coming of age through battles with depression through which he has determined to create and become something beautiful,” reads Reach Records’ press release.

New Hollywood is a project that proves pressure plus time produces hope.

“I wanted to create music that could be a friend for people,” said WHATUPRG. “I wanted to help them know when they hit rock bottom, even then, they’re not alone.

He continued, “New Hollywood is a place where you don’t have to act and you can just be yourself. Being yourself is enough.”
