Legin Opens the Door & Says ‘I’m Home’ in New Video

Legin is many things, but one of his biggest gifts is a consistency of message. Musically and visually, the emcee looks to push the envelope of what faith, mental clarity, hope, and just plain old good music look like. His newest offering – “I’m Home.”

“I’m Home” is an abstract hip-hop artwork with a personal story of finding one’s way home.  Legin teams up with award-winning producer Cardec Drums to motivate listeners to find their way back to their safe place with multi-layered switch-ups that cover trap, gospel, and boom-bap with various flows, high lyricism, and honest reflection.

Legin finds his way back home with God back at his grandma’s house and takes you there with him.

“I want people to find their way home,” the rapper says. “‘I’m Home’ is about me wandering around trying to find my place (verse 1), wrestling with God and questioning Him through the hurts of life (verse 2), and returning back home to Him where I was in the beginning (verse 3).”

The song pays homage to his deceased grandparents who laid the foundation for him to live and pass along “home” to his children and grandchildren.

“I find my home in the Gospel, but for those who don’t have that worldview, I pray that we all find that place of safety, security, and acceptance that we all crave, and I hope that we all ultimately find it in God forever.”

In addition to the song being produced by Cardec Drums with co-production and mixing by Ben Mekkes, Legin returns to frequent collaborator Will Thomas to direct.

The music video is shot beautifully and matches the switch-ups in the song with scene changes and “life changes” in the video. You see Legin in his grandparents as a reflection of his comfort growing up.
