We all know Datin is a dope rapper no matter Christian hip-hop or not. Well, even arguably the greatest lyricist of all time believes so too – Eminem.
Eminem told a mutual friend that I was dope. He respected my pen no matter what my content was.
Young CHH emcee, you ain't gotta dumb it down. Just do what God says and BE DOPE. You never know who your music will reach.

Datin shared this story privately when it happened in 2020, and made a few allusions to it that year. This mutual friend is an artist as well and had the ear of Eminem. During a text conversation with Slim Shady himself, the rapper shared that he just heard Datin, and loved what he heard.
Datin tells it like this:
“I wake up to a text, ‘Yo you’ll never guess who brought you up to me?’ Sends a screenshot, it’s a convo about rap with Em. Then Em says, ‘There’s this dude I ran across, I think you guys should collab’.”
Eminem sends him the link to “Hallelujah All Day” to which the unnamed artist responds, “That’s my man!”
He continued, describing the text messages, “Em said you’re mad dope, he respects your pen, the multi-syllables.”
There’s a little more to this story that Datin may reveal at another time, but just know that Eminem knows who Datin is for sure.
The Menance Movement founder shared another tidbit from yester-year. Back when Datin was a battle rapper and not a Christian, he used to run with the rappers NEMS and George Burns. NEMS over the last year has catapulted to star status, mainly because of his personality and F.Y.L. motto and brand.
Back in the mid-2000s, it was rumored that Datin was supposed to be with Shady Records. You would think it means Eminem has heard his music, but it doesn’t.
“Your music doesn’t get to Em because it’s a chain of command,” the GOM rapper said.
He revealed his music was heard by Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s manager and former CEO of Def Jam, but they declined to sign him solo. They did, however, speak about bringing F.Y.L. – Datin, Nems, and George Burns together.
Then Datin got saved, and the rest is history.
“I had always wondered if Em heard me,” said Datin. “I was on Bizarre‘s [D-12] Battle DVD.”
Funny that it took Datin getting saved to be heard by Eminem.
