AEW Compilation Album is a Huge Moment for Christian Rap & Believers

In celebration of Black History Month, wrestling promotion, AEW dropped the album Who We Are A Celebration of Excellence, Vol. 1 back in February. The coolest thing about it was the project was packed with Christian rap artists. Josiah Williams, Brinson, Cutright, Omega Sparx, and E-Quipped joined us to talk about the project and more.

“It feels like we’re part of history…A legacy-defining moment for a music career” said Omega Sparx. “As Christians, it’s always good to go beyond yourself.”

He continued, “It dispels stereotypes that Believers can’t be culturally relevant…We are already ready for monumental things like this.”

For those who don’t know, AEW is the second biggest professional wrestling promotion behind the legendary WWE. The newer promotion has done a lot of outside-the-box promotions and made moves that are seeing it grow rapidly.

Coincidentally, they’ve had a lot of dealings with Christian rap artists. None bigger than this project which also featured Applejax, K-Drama, Mega Ran, and Isaac Mather.

“It shows the goodness of God to me…we got talent in the kingdom,” said Brinson. “This might be one of the most important projects in Christian hip-hop in as far as world invasion.”
