I’m a little late sharing this month. Easter is coming up! Crazy to think we’re more than three months into 2022. Still a lot of dope Christian Rap artists to be found. Enjoy!
DeNya
Imploring the listener to “denyaself,” DeNya spits some spirit-led provocative lyrics in all she does. I first heard her on her newest single, Newcomer, but after a deep dive into her catalogue, she’s really has some dope stuff. Check her out on Spotify.
TJ Cream
Supremely talented UK artist, TJ Cream dropped his Ex Sample project in January and I find myself coming back to it often. I love the confidence with which he rhymes, but also the musicality in his beats. He’s got laid back stuff like the song below, but also dabbles in grime. It’s an impressive project. Check him out on Spotify
E Carson
I love how E Carson has everything working for him. I like the artwork for his singles, and then upon listening, I find that he lets the beat and the performance work together to create a whole mood. He’s good at switching textures up with his voice – from hushed flows to melodies, to spitting, but is also comfortable with switching the beat up a bit to enhance the track. Looking forward to hearing more from him. Here’s his Spotify.
Lux Kent
This South African artist has been working for seven years to inspire a generation to live a life outside of themselves. He works with Living Legacy Movement and they help organize events, create podcasts, write books, and record music in order to inspire people to leave a mark on this world. Lux is putting in the work and it shows. I dig what he’s doing and I dig his music. Lux Kent Spotify
