Miles Minnick Announces Glochella; Explains Heart Behind Festival [Interview]

Miles Minnick is a man on a mission, and that mission is exploding in his hometown. He’s already got the Glo Collective, so what else is coming?

Well, heading to the Bay Area California on June 11th will be the first annual Glochella Festival. The first two artists announced are Hulvey and Emanuel Da Prophet, but we know a whole bunch more artists will be announced.

Miles took the time to talk about his heart behind the festival.

Where did the idea of GLOCHELLA come from?

One day back in 2019 I was scrolling on social media and I saw a promotion for Coachella. Joking with my friends I said “wouldn’t it be dope if we did a Christian version of this event called it Glochella?” In that moment it dawned on me that we may actually be able to do something special. California tends to get overlooked for a lot of Christian Hip Hop events. Glochella was created to change that by bringing some of the biggest CHH artists in the country together to curate a culturally relevant Kingdom experience.

Are you looking for this to be a yearly thing, and what was the biggest challenge in putting it together?

Yes this is something that we want to build on year after year! To be honest I would say the biggest challenge was getting started. It took us three years to start because the idea of doing something on this magnitude, that’s never been done before, was intimidating. After we began to pursue the vision we felt like God gave us the right team and the pieces began to fall in place.

Do you feel like the Bay Area is underrepresented in CHH?

I absolutely feel like The Bay is underrepresented in CHH! To take it further, I can say the same thing about California as a whole. There is so much talent out here but for whatever reason, the rest of the genre seems to be unaware. Myself and The Glo Collective plan to change that this year.

Is this the first step in other big moves that are coming?

Glochella is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the things we plan to do this year and beyond! I have had the privilege to be able to team up with some heavy hitters of the genre to bring something fresh and disruptive to the culture. Just know, after Glochella some world wide moves are being made.

How will GLOCHELLA be different from a regular festival?

I can’t speak for other festivals but I know for ours we plan to hold a mixer for Christian creatives to build community amongst like minded individuals, have an entire portion of our day dedicated to highlighting up and coming artists, Super Smash Bros tournament, a beat battle while ensuring that the evening ends in worship and a prayer for salvation. After June 11th The Bay Area will never be the same. Ya feel me!?

Tickets are on sale now (HERE). This event will sell out. Purchase before its too late!
