Alveda King: ‘Legal Abortion Does Not Stop the Problem of Abortions’

We spoke to the Niece of Martin Luther King Jr., Alveda King, where she spoke about a variety of topics from hip-hop, CRT, Donald Trump, and her most passionate topic – abortion and being Pro-Life.

“We know life is sacred from the womb to the tomb. Human dignity is important,” King stated.

When asked about why hasn’t abortion been banned under Republican leadership, and what would happen to those who get “back-alley abortions” here’s what she said:

“Legal abortions did not stop the problem of abortion. It just made people have many more abortions,” she shared. “Less than 100,000 when it wasn’t illegal, and now 70 million since it became legal since 1973.”

King revealed she had an illegal abortion and a legal one. Then suffered a miscarriage later on because of the complications from the abortions.

In the 80s, is when she gave her life to Christ and since then has been a bold advocate for the unborn.

“We know when abortions aren’t as accessible, we won’t wind up with millions and millions of dead people,” King said. “It was never safe, it’s just now legal. There has to be better ways to serve people without killing them.”

She said there needs to be options for the people who are still going to get them, and they need to be helped in a way that it is an unthinkable choice for them.

“We need to do a better job of helping them.”

She continued, “Birthing a baby doesn’t make you a mother. You are a mom the minute that child is conceived.”
