WHATUPRG is killing us with these New Hollywood teases! It’s been such a long time coming, but fortunately for us, he’s been performing an upcoming single. Since last summer RG has tested the waters on a song called “KIDS.”
All Things CHH posted a video of the live performance on December 16th.
Watch WHATUPRG Below:
RG has been somewhat busy lately after a long period of quiet. There were two new tracks released at the top of the month. The first was on Lecrae and 1K Phew’s No Church in A While with the song “Save Us.”
Then he released the song “Praise” featuring himself, Foggieraw, Ty Brasel, Parris Chariz, NOT KLYDE, 1K Phew, J. Monty, Aha Gazelle, 350, and Kaleb Mitchell.
According to Instagram, this track was written and recorded in 24-hours which is crazy!

Listen to WHATUPRG and Everyone Else Below:
WHATUPRG dropped two stellar projects upon signing to Reach with Pleasant Hill in 2018 and Raul in 2019. But since then, it’s going into almost three years without a project and barely any music.
We know that the next project is called New Hollywood because he’s been saying it’s coming since early 2020. We spoke with a source at Reach Records who told us the project is coming at the top of 2022. Then a day later, Reach Records’ VP of A&R, Ace Harris, spilled the beans himself – “1Q22.”

So we are hoping and praying that this is the case because the fans are clamoring. They are even questioning if it exists! When we spoke to him in Atlanta back in July, he said it was coming and probably in September. That changed yet again.
Here’s a timeline of events on the dates of New Hollywood:
The project is dropping on September 25th 2020.

In 2019, we wrote about WHATUPRG tragically losing four albums worth of material on hard drives and a laptop. While inside a venue celebrating 1K Phew’s album release, someone broke into his truck and took his stuff.
Back in February of 2020, he tweeted that he “found New Hollywood.”
Thanks for your patience. Album this year

Presumably, RG was at the tail end of these projects that he hinted at back in May 2019 with the following Tweets:
Two Birds One Stone was the collaboration project hinted at by him and 1K Phew. It wound up being two songs maybe thanks in part to possibly losing other songs on it.
New Hollywood was mentioned in a previous interview to be his first full-length album. The Spanish album could be a teased project with Tommy Royale, while It Gets Better sounds like a follow-up to Raul.
At some point, he also stated that the new album will be his “last project as WHATUPRG.”
So that’s all we got!
