Stephen Wiley the Godfather of Christian Rap Promises New Music & Raps New Song [Interview]

Rapzilla had the privilege of speaking with Stephen Wiley at the Tulsa, OKC premiere of Mic Drop. The film, which chronicles the beginnings of CHH, hosted the early pioneers for a performance.

The artist is commonly known as the Godfather of Christian rap. He was the first to be signed to a label and gained success. There were perhaps one or two that came before him but it was a one and done song.

Wiley has released music in nearly 30 years, but that doesn’t mean he’s done yet. He explained that there’s new music on the way.

“I’m extremely busy. I’m wearing too many hats,” he said before rattling off everything he’s up to. “I got music in my vault…the Bible Break went through the books of the Bible. This one teaches the Ten Commandments.”

He continued, “I have another song called Christian girl.” Wiley then rapped a verse of it.

Mic Drop premieres on streaming December 19th.
