The Rapzilla Freshmen have finally been announced! This year we have 15, plus the fan vote, and also 5 producers! I know we say it every year, but this was one of the hardest lists to put together yet. Everyone on the list is very deserving. I’d encourage you to take a listen to any of the people you haven’t heard of and support those who made it!
Obviously, there are some names that didn’t make the list that are deserving too. To those artists, I’d say keep your head up, you’re not slept on, we see you. Don’t let your exclusion from a list determine your excellence in 2021. Keep rising up. Check out the full list on Rapzilla now!
Chance the Rapper dropped an incredible song called “The Heart & Tongue” that was littered with bold Christian imagery. You hear that…it’s the comments section calling me an idiot or yelling about Chance. You might be right, but many of those same people called out Kanye West, and he’s the real deal in following Jesus right now.
Chance has always spoken about being a believer but this song seems to be more than talk and affirms him living in action. I wrote a breakdown of the track on Rapzilla. Let me know what you think.
We dropped a pilot episode of a new show on YouTube called Rapographies. The first episode talks about The Sory of Bizzle & God Over Money. In this six-minute video, we start at the beginning of Bizzle’s career as a secular artist and take you to the present day.
It’s a pilot so we’re just trying to get the feelers out. We’d love some constructive criticism and feedback on what you saw. I also want to introduce you to the people who put it together, Evelyn Todd edited, Maggie Salyers narrated, and Ed Boice researched and wrote the script.
Luc DiMarzio dropped another installment of rappers you may not have heard of this month. Most of the time he brings four quality artists to the table that you should check out. See who we featured this month!
In conclusion, don’t forget to check out all of our playlists featuring the top tracks that dropped on Friday. Start with the Rapzilla Playlist and work your way down.
