Welcome to our weekly episode of Rapzilla.com’s Top Christian Rap News Recap. We endeavor to grab the best stories from the previous week and give them to you every Monday.
Canon released his heartfelt and emotional track “Evil.” Some of what he said: “I pray that this song shows that racism is evil. What we are seeing today is the fruit of that evil that has been allowed to grow in our society through the many injustices that people of color have faced, both public and private. Even if you were previously unaware of your racial biases and discriminatory tendencies, it is still evil. I hope that this song will demonstrate that what some policemen have been able to get away with in the past and present is evil. To my people, I hear you, I feel you, and I’m here with you. I encourage those who do not understand the angst of Black people right now, and even those who think they understand, to build real relationships with people of color.”
The next story is very unfortunate. Popular Christian clothing company founder of The Way Brand Jesse Aceves was arrested and charged with 3 counts of child molestation over a period of 17 years. Sadly, The Way Brand fitted some of your favorite CHH artists and even threw concerts and events with the genre. This is a horrible situation, please pray for all affected.
We want to give a special shout out to Laila Mickelwait of Trafficking Hub and Exodus Cry. A few weeks ago a reported that they were on a quest of over a million signatures to try to shut down Porn hub due to sex trafficking, well, take a look at this!
Community During Chaos
We continued the conversation on Monday about helping our communities during a time of chaos. Whether we are dealing with civil unrest, COVID-19, brutality, rioting, how are we making a difference in our communities? I spoke to Kadence, A.I. the Anomaly, and Ruslan.
