Welcome to our weekly episode of Rapzilla.com’s Top Christian Rap News Recap. We endeavor to grab the best stories from the previous week and give them to you every Monday.
So we finally locked down an interview with the big guy himself Lecrae. He was gracious with his time and talked with us about everything he went through to get to this restoration in his life. One of the most instrumental parts of this was his trip to Israel walking on holy ground renewed his spirit and focus.
There were many highlights in this article and a less serious and more fun part two is dropping later this week.
We had the privilege to tell Wande’s complete story and release it just before her new album EXIT. Breaking it into two halves, you can see Wande’s journey from a Muslim born aspiring doctor to how a flip switched and she became a Christian rapper. She went from saving lives to saving souls. In fact, this very show you’re watching now was originally done by Wande.
The trip through each it of her life is remarkable. Read it now while you’re listening to the album. Part 2 will be dropping later this week.
GAWVI
We’re giving you a double shot of GAWVI. We had an in-depth interview with GAWVI where he spoke about the heart of Heathen. It’s basically about him letting go of what was holding him back and being free to his true identity. He takes the term “heathen” and makes it akin to the term “Jesus freak.”
Our writer Elijah Matos also did a break down of the album that paints GAWVi as a unifier and someone integral to culture to keep it moving. Check them both out on Rapzilla.
Antoine Bradford
Humble Beast made some big news this week when they announced the signing of singer Antoine Bradford. He was formerly known as ABIV and regardless of what you know him as, his talent is undeniable. Stay tuned for the album

Here are two quick stores you can check out on Rapzilla that include clips. Hip-Hop legend Redman made a video praising Dru Bex and OnBeatMusic’s song “Crown.” The scoop is that Dru’s wife had something to do with this arrangement. Very cool!
Speaking of legends, DMX took to IG Live to do a Bible study with his followers. We know DMX has his issues, but he’s never afraid to be bold about his faith. Just keep him in your prayers because we’re all battling something.

Over the summer Dee-1 joined us on Community During Chaos to talk about his at the time upcoming track “Racist Christians.” He knew the song would be controversial but in reality, the song had a simple, yet important message. “Amidst talks of racial tension, ‘Racist Christians’, it’s time someone made a song that says it’s a complete contradiction to be a racist and a Christian. We have a long history in the church of blatant examples of racism and people feeling like it’s separate.” He continued, “I have never experienced racism in the church.” But he added the caveat of, […]
Lecrae was a guest on Community During Chaos and one of the final questions he was asked was, “What would you want your legacy to be?” and “After God says, ‘Well done my good and faithful servant’ what would you want the next line to be?” “I had a moment a couple of years ago where I just broke down…looking through scriptures after Peter had denied Jesus and then went back to fishing and he was cooking. Jesus came to him and said, ‘feed my sheep’.” He continued, “That’s what I want to know. Obviously, it’s well done [good and […]
In recent years, Kanye West has been the target of criticism due to his bipolar disorder. Many remember his delusional rants at a Los Angeles concert in 2016 that sent him straight to the hospital. Others recall controversial statements made during his 2020 presidential campaign. The media never ceases to cite manic episodes in both his public and private lives. Sadly, many Christians are often the attackers of the celebrity and execute harsh judgments against him. They look to his crazed actions as justification for slander and gossip within church communities. Some even call this kind of backstabbing holy and […]
Being a musician has become far more complicated since it has been industrialized. There has always been a spectrum of those who purely create art expressing themselves through music (artists) and those who simply endeavor to use their musical talents to shock and amaze (entertainers). Historically, it would seem as though there’s always been a fine line between the two because through different time periods the demand and appreciation for “art” has evolved. If you think about the evolution of music as a genre: it began as fine art (let’s begin with classical musicians), then the next big wave was […]

Spence 4Hire dropped his new track “REAL” and here’s what he had to say: “The song theme is centered around the struggle being very real…but so is our God. Although I consider myself a wordsmith and lyricist, I’ve opted out of those strengths in this song, for what I believe to be a greater purpose. This song pioneers true Worshiphop. The function of a worship song is to lead listeners into active worship, connect with, and focus on God, usually in a worship setting. Worship songs are simple, repetitive, and easy for anyone to join in with upon hearing for the first time.” […]
