The Witcher Netflix Series [Review]

The Witcher Netflix Series gets a review score of 9.5/10. The only shortcomings in the show were the lack of “monster hunting” that is falsely foreshadowed at the beginning of the series. Taking .5 points off just for that.

Other than that, you have a great show that you can watch without prior knowledge of the video game series. You are thrown into a world without a need for a large monologue or an over-saturation of character introductions and can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Casting is spot on with every character and Henry Cavill really adopted the identity of Geralt of Rivia who we loved playing in all the games (maybe this can be done one day with other popular video game franchises).

The soundtrack is on par with Lord of the Rings as far as pairing and execution. The character development is done so well that you are not at any point in the series questioning anyone’s importance to the overall story. The CGI was not the best with the action scenes but it isn’t unbearable due to the balance and use of it. It is a Netflix series so of course there is a bit of nudity and gore in it so I would not recommend it for children.

Can’t wait for next season!
