Veterans Day and Christian Rap Artists Who Have Served

Every year Veterans Day is celebrated across the U.S.A. to honor those who served in the military for our country and to remember those lost. Christian rap is a smaller platoon but there are several artists to thank today.

Doc Watson

Let’s kick it off with Doc Watson. Although not an artist per se, he is responsible for many of the artists we love and know today. He started out as a producer but saw the talent in Derek Minor and decided to push toward that. Eventually, the pair would create RMG.

What’s not to like about Wordsplayed? He makes great music and is hilarious. In addition to that, he served in the Navy at the same time you were just starting to learn who he was.

Sean C. Johnson

It can be argued that Sean C. Johnson is one of the best singers in CHH. What isn’t an argument, is he was showing off his vocal pipes while in the Air Force. In fact, he recorded his first three albums while serving.

DJ Primo

This next Veteran passed away in 2012. DJ Primo was the king of Christian chopped and screwed music. Real name, Carlos Avila, he left a huge impact on the CHH community. One of the last marks of his legacy was 116 Clique The Compilation Album: Chopped & Screwed by DJ Primo.

There are a few other Veterans that were brought to our attention and we want to highlight them here.

ArmondWakeUp, B-Les, Yung D.O., Offline PK, and C-Straight, Readywriter, & Nazarite of Godchaserz.

We want to thank all of the Veterans in this article, those we missed, those reading this article, and all of the people across the country for their bravery.
