R-Swift is an O.G. in Christian rap as he started dropping music in the early 2000s. 2021 he’s not slowing down and has a project called GLDN dropping November 19th. “New Day” and “Real Ones Winning” have already been released as single, and there will probably be one single dropped before this record comes. Last year KB released what many considered a masterpiece of worship and rap with His Glory Alone. The rapper himself coined it Trapship. Well, the voters at the Dove Awards agreed with many in Christian Hip-hop sent KB home with a win. The album was up against Zauntee 3:34, Social Club Misfits Feared by Hell, Lecrae Restoration, and Ty Brasel The Divine Storm. Lecrae and the Dove Awards are no strangers to each other. This year on what could be his “last album” he won Rap/Hip-Hop Recorded Song of the Year for “Deep End” off his Restoration album. He was pitted against KB’s “10K,” Steven Malcolm’s “Glory on Me,” Social Club Misfits’ “Is that Okay?,” and Hulvey’s “Reasons.” Watch Lecrae Below:
It was one thing to hear Trip Lee and his song “You Got It” on the Reach Records summer playlist, but now to see him is different. The video, shot by Dust Brand Films, shows Lee back like he never left. He’s put through a series of conventional hip-hop tropes of a fancy whip, drugs, drip, and even an interrogation scene with Lecrae.
