Honor the Culture Awards

Last week, we announced the launch of a GoFundMe that seeks to raise money for the first-ever Honor the Culture Awards. We are looking to set up a Christian Hip Hop Awards show at A3C in Atlanta next year. It’s going to take an army of support from the artists, labels, and fans of Rapzilla. If you are interested in supporting, volunteering, or collaborating, please contact us at Check out the GoFundMe, this can only happen with your help, and if it doesn’t work out, that’s ok too. We’ll keep pushing.

Chance the Rapper

“One of the more complicated things to unpackage is the way people react to you being a Christian rapper, at least putting faith in the music that you make,” Evans said. He continued, “When you see headlines like Vice saying, ‘It’s Tough to be a Chance the Rapper Fan When You’re Not a Christian‘ what is your reaction to that?”
“Maybe that’s true…but does it sound like it makes sense? No,” Chance the Rapper replied.
“Obviously Kanye’s generating Kanye levels of interest in this Sunday Service thing. What’s your initial thought on that kind of music sharing?” Evans asked. “It’s slightly more important because it’s doing what we’re supposed to do, shouting praise,” said Chance.
“Seeing Kanye get all these people together reveal these songs of worship that have been around forever to people who may not know them. It’s an important thing that’s supposed to be happening right now and it’s dope that Ye is doing it.”

The Gift Deluxe

Reach Records announced that The Gift Deluxe is coming on November 29th. The Christmas album features three new tracks than last year’s.

WHATUPRG and 1K Phew

Speaking of Reach, WHATUPRG and 1K Phew dropped the BIRDS maxi-singles “Drip Lee” and “Okay.” RG tweeted that the two tracks are the only ones remaining from his stolen laptop.

NewH2O Artist of the Week

“My passion for music is driven by the desire to help hurting people. I’ve been through very dark valleys in life, some of which I didn’t think I could make it out of. I know what it’s like to feel worthless. I know how hard it can be to move forward in life because you don’t have any hope for a better tomorrow. Thankfully by the grace of God, I have experienced His love, He has showed me how valuable I am to Him, and He has given me a sense of hope I never knew existed. I know that there a lot of people who wake up every morning and they haven’t experienced the freedom I have. That’s why I do what I do. I believe we’re here to help each other along life’s journey and I want to create art that exposes who I am, what I’ve been through, and the Hope I found that’s made all the difference in my life today. I want to share the Love of God with those who are hurting and feel broken.”
