FLAME vs Katy Perry Settlement Verdict
So it’s official, last week Katy Perry and her team were found guilty of plagiarising FLAME’s “Joyful Noise” with their own hit “Dark Horse.” FLAME will be receiving $2.78 million. Perry will be responsible for $550,000 with Capitol Records owing the majority of what’s left. This case is not without its controversy as numerous musical experts have come out citing why and why not the outcome of this case turned out the way it did. NF vs Chance the Rapper
Last week we also reported that NF’s The Search beat out Chance the Rapper’s The Big Day and now today we can confirm those numbers. At the time of our report, NF had sold the equivalent of almost 125,000 units. Chance was at over 118,000. NF fans showed up and showed out. Check that story out here.
RMG Group Album
The fellas over at RMG announced a joint album, Whole Team Winning. It’ll feature Derek Minor, Canon, Byron Juane, and Tony Tillman. They dropped the first single “Who Gon Stop Us” on Friday along with the album preorder. The songs will be turn up sports-type anthems that are sure to grab placements everywhere from ESPN to maybe some video games. The song and preorder are here.
God Over Money Tour
Lastly, God Over Money announced their month-long tour. Expect to see Bizzle, Bumps, Selah, Jered Sanders, Datin, and A.I. the Anomaly in some of your favorite cities. I saw the tour last year in Queens and it was fantastic. So expect more of the same. Get your tickets here.
