The above picture of NF was posted in a fan group. The plaque he is holding certifies that his song “Let You Down” has gone triple platinum. That means including sales and adjusting for stream equivalents, the song was purchased over 3 million times. Here’s the thing, that picture was from last year.

If you do the math from last year to this year, there’s a reason to believe the song has gone 8x platinum.

“Let You Down” has 610 million streams on Spotify. It has 200 million + plays on YouTube. Approximately 200 million streams on Apple Music, and roughly 90 million streams from all other streaming and download services.

That equates to around 1.2 billion streams total. Take that number and divide it by 150 (streams needed to equal 1 song download) and it that equals 8 million.

“In the new structure, 150 streams of a song equals one paid download, and ten paid downloads equates to an album download. So, an artist’s music will have to be streamed on any of the approved, included services 1,500 times for an album ‘sale’ to be counted,” according to Forbes.

No matter how you shake it, NF is doing ridiculous numbers worldwide. Last year we wrote an article about him surpassing one billion streams. Now, he’s got over one billion on a single song.
