Justin Bieber’s Rumored Christian Music Comeback And Lecrae Collab

Justin Bieber has recently been hinting at his comeback to music on Instagram and there are rumors that he could be making a Christian resurgence to his artistry. We’re speculating that this could mean a Lecrae collaboration in the near future, here’s why.

First let’s touch on the faith-based revamp to his music. In March of this year The Sun reported that according to a source close to Justin:

“Justin is on the lookout for songs which really reflect where he is in his life in terms of spirituality. He has always been religious but the last two years have seen him grow closer to the Hillsong Church and it has changed his entire life.

He has a totally different outlook now. After he finished his last tour he really wasn’t interested in recording any music for a while. But his time with the church has revitalized him and although he is working with a lot of the same people who helped to make his last album, Purpose, he is reshaping his sound so it is more in line with the church’s values and beliefs. There are key themes of love and redemption in the tracks he has created so far. It will certainly surprise some fans.”

According to the article he is planning his comeback at the end of this year, or early 2019.

There are more events to support this case. Last month we reported on the below video of Justin Bieber spitting a Christ-inspired freestyle with friends during a hike.

Also, last year Justin was at a club where he played his remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE” which featured some Christian Rap type lyrics.

[Intro]
Somebody pray for me
Somebody pray for me
Somebody pray for me

[Verse]
It’s that Abe Lincoln [?] history in the making
Spirit filled, miseducation
I’m that new Jason Bourne, reborn a revelation
You gon’ perfect your gift and I’m gon’ perfect my patience
Unashamed to say the name, I keep it blatant in every statement
[?]
His name is Jesus and maybe you’ll start believin’
I don’t boast about numbers but I’ma keep it one hundred
Yeah, it’s songs over sins, yeah I put God over money
Yeah, I know my name’s Justin but justice is comin’ (yeah)

Justin also performed Chris Tomlin’s popular worship song “Good Good Father” in London in September.

We think there’s evidence enough to suggest that the rumors of Justin’s next project being Christian-based (similar to what Tori Kelly did with her well-recieved ‘Hiding Place‘ album) will turn out to be true.

Now, about the Lecrae collaboration, last year Justin shared Lecrae’s highly successful single featuring Tori Kelly, “I’ll Find You,” on his Instagram story and then in May of this year he posted Andy Mineo’s “Clarity” from ‘I: The Arrow‘ EP.

Following in September, Justin was backstage at City Fest in Grand Rapids, MI where Lecrae was performing and then a few days later he was spotted by fans wearing a Lecrae ‘Blessings’ hoodie from the Champion collection.

Lecrae posted to his social media thanking Justin for attending the show and a picture of him with a fan wearing the sweater and just recently he posted a picture of him again on his feed.

It seems the Justin Bieber and Lecrae are big fans of each other and a collaboration wouldn’t be out of the question. Are you anticipating one?
