New York rapper Ian Kenville released a new single featuring Ruslan and producer FVMELESS, “RIOT.”
Ian said this about the song. “I wrote RIOT back in April of 2017. I was upset, I was confused, I was in a place where I had so many feelings that I didn’t know how to express regarding social justice, bigotry, and what was happening in our country. I felt like a riot was happening on the inside, and I just couldn’t get my feelings out without exploding.
Emotions pent up will destroy you.
A lot has changed since than, but the song has been my muse, my passion piece, my grand creation. I finally felt like I’d formulated my thoughts through the music, and it was a freeing experience making the record. I used this song to open in New York for artists I grew up idolizing, I’ve performed it over 20 times, re-written it a solid 10 times as well. It has had 4 different hooks, 5 beats, and 3 feature attempts before Ruslan agreed to do the 3rd verse and killed it. It’s ready for the world to hear. Enjoy the riot. You can’t say I didn’t tell em how I really felt.
I’m not looking to change your mind, I just wanted to share a piece of mine.”
