The Rapzilla Beat Battle afforded everyone the opportunity to witness some of the best up and coming producers in the genre. Today, we’ll be highlighting one of the participants, DaBoomSquad. This is not one person, but a production team. In the Beat Battle, only one member represented, but the whole crew was there cheering their representative on.

Tell us a little bit about DaBoomSquad. How’d you all come together and what’s the goal?

DaBoomSquad is a record & engineer production team consisting of producers and instrumentalists hailing from the likes of Chicago IL, Kansas City MO, Richmond VA, and Sioux Falls SD. We are a team of four members K-Diamond, @kdiamondbeats, Rockhouse Music @iamrockhouse, Jluv Productions @jluvbeatskc, and A-Foe @afoe_100.

DaBoomSquad assembled back in 2016 with the desire to glorify Christ and grow immensely in the area of music, engineering and overall production. K-Diamond and Feeze187 had a relationship prior to music production as they both played college football together. The remainder of the team JLuv and Rock House came about via developed friendships and relationships over time.

Do you have a specific style or genre that you work in?

DaBoomSquad is known for their hard-hitting drums, 808’s, sample chops, and crispy melodic elements. We aren’t strangers to music and understand what it takes to attack all genres of musical production.

What has been the biggest beat placement you’ve received so far?

The biggest placement received as of yet is “You’re Welcome.” It was the title track from R-Swift’s most recent album release You’re Welcome. Look out for music production from DBS featured on Canon’s upcoming album “Home.”

Who are some artists you’d like to work with?

DaBoomSquad is working with and desires to work with all artists and creatives seeking to expound upon their craft.

How was the experience of the Rapzilla beat battle?

Our experience at the beat battle was one for the books. From the venue to the rawness of the crowd and the on-point judges and hosts. We were able to connect with friends and were able to meet tons of new friends. We believe the battle was a success and was one of the best to date.

Did you guys learn anything from performing beats live and competing?

As a team, we learned the importance of getting the crowd involved early and keeping their attention at all times. We also learned the importance of switch up and changes.

What’s the best advice, if any, that you received at the battle?

We received tons of impactful advice at the battle and throughout our time in Atlanta. It was stated that “You four have something special brewing and many miss out on the opportunity of a production team due to pride, egos, and selfishness. This is special.” Salute to the big homie @tee_wyla.

“Remain open and honest with one another at all times. This will keep the unit sealed allowing room for continued growth and maturity as a team and musicians.” Salute to the homie @sherrodwhite.

Salute to @beatbillionaire MMG super producer and cousin to DBS member Rockhouse for being a real one. He spent hours with us dropping knowledge vibing to our beats and his unreleased music. Truly an impactful experience.

What’s next for you?

Great things are on the horizon for DaBoomSquad with several music placements dropping in “18” &”19.” However, what we’d like to proudly announce is our joint venture with Spechouse. Spechouse and DaBoomSquad have linked arms as one unit and have formed what we call “Th5 Merg3r.” We look forward to making an impact on CHH and the culture for the glory of God. We will make our official announcement in the near future.
