Producer Zaytoven Makes it to Church Every Sunday to Lead Worship

Lecrae and Zaytoven just announced they will be releasing a joint album soon. Many of our readers were either:

A.) Upset Lecrae was working with a “secular” producer
B.) Never heard of him

Well, wouldn’t you know, Zaytoven is trying to impact the culture with a lot more than his beats. He’s a Christian who is using his “God-given gifts” to try and reach the world.

A short documentary was made about Zaytoven that explores this more. *Shout out to Twitter user @Sunbash for showing us this video.

Watch the Zaytoven documentary below:

“When I was young I started playing music in the church,” the producer says at the open of the video. “My dad is the minister and my mom is the choir director.”

Despite the variety of artists who come in and out of the studio with him, he does not use profanity, drink, or smoke.

In fact, most of these artists come through to his mom’s house. They record in the basement and she holds them to these rules as well.

Zaytoven still plays piano every Sunday for his church. He’s done so for the last 11 years. He even once left a recording session with Snoop Dogg to play at his church.

The producer who has worked with Gucci Mane, Snoop, Migos, and others said his parents allowing artists to record in their home was “ministry.”

Them recording kept them off the street and into a home with Biblical values and rules for them to follow while they were there.

“His stuff sounds like church,” said one of the rappers in the doc. “When he touches the piano I hear God…worship.”

Perhaps he really did.
