Steven Malcolm will release his followup to The Second City Part 1 with Part 2. The second part of the four-part series will arrive on June 8th.
The EP resumes Malcolm’s biographical journey that began with his father’s deportation and separation. It then follows his painful childhood and teenage years. He ultimately finds himself with Jesus.
Four of the five songs convey Malcolm’s Reggae Jamaican heritage. The closing ballad, “Even Louder (feat. Leeland Mooring),” delivers a worship message. Malcolm once again co-wrote all of the songs on the project. High-profile writers such as Charles Anderson, Mooring (Bethel Music Collective), Chris Mackey, Joseph Prielozny, and Juice Bangers wrote with him.
Malcolm recently partnered with Cantinas Arts Foundation and Red Eye in their first video collaboration for the song, “Not to Us/Good Love.” The Second City Part 1 featured this track. The Los Angeles Watts community served as the backdrop for the video.

The Second City Part 1 was released January 2018 and received strong reviews.
Malcolm has had a busy schedule in 2018. Trevecca University’s “Bonnearoo” music festival, Nashville Film Festival, and the GMA’s Immerse event in June are just some of the places he’s playing.
An announcement will be coming this summer from Malcolm regarding a major fall tour.
