Shopé Dives into the Complexities of Love with ‘XXY’ Album & Short Film

Role Model Records’ Shopé released his first full-length project since 2016 today. In addition, the album came with a short film.

“Love is complex! Simultaneously producing the most ecstatic pleasures and the most profound pains, it wields unflinching control over us. XXY resides in this tension. Confessing the trials of romance yet still celebrating marriage as the ultimate expression of monogamous love.”

The rapper released a short companion film to go with the album. It stars Shannon Beckford and is directed by Kamar Burke.
