Rapzilla.com’s 15 Freshman of 2017

Mogli the Iceburg

Nashville-based artist Mogli the Iceburg emerged in 2015 with his debut album, Drevmcvtchr, and then displayed improvement on his free EP last year, Synethesia.

Rapzilla.com expects the indie tribe. member to continue to improve on his sophomore LP this year.

When did you decide that you wanted to pursue music?

I can’t remember a time that I didn’t want to pursue music. Growing up, I just never thought I really could. I wasn’t a great musician, and there weren’t really any rappers that looked like me. But when I first started to record myself in high school, doubt gave way to passion and obsession, and I’ve been working towards a career ever since.

What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far?

The last 12 months have been like a blur: played my first out-of-state shows, went on my first mini-tour, worked with some of my favorite artists and realized my music has been streamed over one million times this year. The whole thing has been a ceaseless moment.

What should fans be on the lookout for musically from you in 2017?

First half of 2017, I’m releasing a full-length album titled Tumultu, and by the end of the year, I hope to have put out a couple collaborative projects as well. I might even do a creative cover album just for fun.
