Rapzilla.com’s 15 Freshman of 2017

Surf Gvng

Wolf and Geek of the Miami-based duo Surf Gvng form one of the hardest working acts in Christian hip hop, and as a result, the group was one of the most improved of 2016.

Surf Gvng polished its sound on its debut album, INITIXTION, last May. And the group’s always-polished marketing could take them far.

When did you decide that you wanted to pursue music?

The first song we ever did together reached and impacted thousands of people within a matter of days. We both knew this movement was bigger than us, and we needed to pursue the clear mission God set in us.

What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far?

Getting paid $5,000 to open for Lecrae, having our families there to witness what we’ve been able to do living for God, after them seeing how much wrong we did living in the world.

What should fans be on the lookout for musically from you in 2017?

Doubling our catalog, becoming more personal and transparent in our music, more behind the scenes and vlog content. We want to connect with our listeners on a deeper level and let them in.

Follow Surf Gvng on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
