Music Premiere: MidCentury Modern – They Will Know ft. Derek Webb

A Rapzilla.com premiere, MidCentury Modern’s (Sintax the Terrific & Rheomatic) latest single, They Will Know, brings together this generation’s voice of conviction, Derek Webb, and a past generation’s hymn of conviction, They Will Know We Are Christians, to confess that which we are not — people who show charity in actions not just words.

At a historical moment of so much adamancy and surety and certainty with respect to political and cultural and religious opinion, we are ultimately measured by what “we do – and just don’t.” Whether we offer goodness or withhold it. Whether our “kids go to their schools, with their tools” or whether we “remain perched upon the privilege of a fortunate few.” We are not loving because of the “bumper stickers” we display or the “crisp puritanical lives” we falsely profess or “a superstar cameo for radio shine.” Rather, we can only “give the world proof of our relation to Thine, when we put, for their life, our life on the line.” It’s what we sacrifice not what we say.

As people of conscience and faith, we have one job “my brother to guard your dignity, we’ve got one job my sister to guard your soul.”

Because they’ll either know Him, by our love – or just won’t.
