Rapper Seckond Chaynce spoke to Rapzilla about his music, friendship with KB, and working with boys in a community home.
On his upcoming EP, he has a collaboration with KB coming.
“Me and KB pretty much started HGA together,” he shared. He said once KB was signed to Reach Records, they distanced a bit. Seckond Chaynce also revealed he was supposed to be signed to Reach too, but God held him back.
“More than anything, KB is my brother,” he shared and said the collaboration was needed to rekindle their brotherhood.
The song is essentially, “Beast mode for God…” or a “track to flex” on.
The rapper said there is a new project on its way and will feature five tracks.
“I’ve been dropping projects like crazy this year,” Seckond Chaynce said of all the singles he’s put out.
He also started incorporating singing into music, which is something he said he’s always done. “If it comes out in rap form I’m gonna rap if it comes out in singing, I’m gonna sing.”
Another topic Seckond Chaynce addressed is his work in group homes for boys.
“You really get challenged as a believer in a group home…boys that have been molested, boys on drugs…”
He said the calling was there because of growing up in a single parent home without a father. He never had a father until someone showed initiative in his life later on.
“That was the hands of God…He showed love. He moved in this young man’s life,” Seckond Chaynce said of his spiritual father. “I just regurgitate back into my community.”
