Homeless Rapper Shares How Flavor Fest Changed Her Life

Christian femcee Sicily shared her incredible testimony with Rapzilla at Flavor Fest and revealed that not even her parents know the details of it.

Sixth years ago, Sicily became the first winner of the Rapzilla Beat Battle contest at Flavor Fest, and it forever changed her life. No one knew just exactly what she was going through even leading up to that moment.

“I was actually homeless at the time,” she said. “The night before I actually slept under a bridge. I never even told my parents this story.”

She attended Crossover church as a member, and right before the Flavor Fest event went to Walgreens, bought some wipes, cleaned up, and changed into clothes that were in her backpack.

Sicily had a laptop and a midi keyboard and would just sit under the bridge and make beats.

“I have an opportunity tonight to do what I love and have fun,” she thought at the time.

“I didn’t expect to win. That $500 opened a door for me to pay someone to let me stay at their house for a full year,” she shared. “I said, ‘This is all I have’ and they let me stay at their house for a whole entire year.”

Sicily admits that she’s still struggling financially but receives help and housing from her new church.

“God doesn’t promise us this cushy life… We are to live for Him in good and bad,” she said. “No matter what circumstance God allows me to face, I’m going to serve Him.”

Sicily speaks about these trials on her newest record Problemsand wanted to encourage people with hope in Christ.
