In the battle round of The Voice South Africa, singer-songwriter Eden Myrrh earned a victory with her performance of Elton John’s song “Rocket Man”, advancing her to the live rounds of the reality television series.

Rapzilla regulars should be familiar with Myrrh’s name.

Chicago-based artist Skrip has featured her on two songs, “A Better Way” and “Come With Me”. Myrrh’s self-produced EP, Chronicles Of A Dreamer, which she released in April 2015, is also available for free download on Rapzilla.

Named in Feb. 2015 as one of “five talented females in Christian hip-hop you’ve probably never heard of,” the latter part of that title should fit her no longer. Watch her battle round performance below.

Live rounds for The Voice SA will begin next Sunday.

From the show’s official website: “In the first live show, four team members from each coach will perform live from Sasani Studios in Johannesburg, and while each coach will be able to save one singer from their team, it will be up to the voting public to decide which of the remaining four singers will remain in the game.”

Voting details for The Voice SA, which airs on M-Net, will be published during next Sunday’s show on its website.

“Originally from Pietermaritzburg, Eden Myrrh now lives in Cape Town where she is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter and music producer,” her The Voice SA bio reads. “While working on her music dreams, she is also studying for her BComm in Marketing, which she believes will stand her in good stead in the tough music industry. With her Blind audition, Eden captured Kahn and Karen’s imagination with her unique interpretation of Sia’s “Chandelier” inspiring them to passionately fight for her favor. She went with Kahn, who explained to her how she painted pictures with her voice.”
