Sevin has released over 30 albums, according to his record label God Over Money, and an appearance on Billboard by his new LP, Purple Heart, may have been his first.

Purple Heart charted at No. 13 among Christian Albums and No. 5 among Heatseekers Albums this week. Billboard describes how projects qualify for its Heatseekers chart with the following explanation.

“This week’s top-selling albums by new or developing acts, defined as those who have never appeared on the top 100 of the Billboard 200 or the top 10 of R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Country Albums, Latin Albums, Christian Albums or Gospel Albums. If a title reaches any of those levels, it and the act’s subsequent albums are then ineligible to appear on Heatseekers Albums, ranked by sales data as compiled by Nielsen Music.”

Missional minded-Sevin had never checked if his albums charted on Billboard before, but his first release signed to GOM likely resulted in the best first-week sales numbers in his decade-plus long career.

Purple Heart features GOM founder Bizzle on four tracks. Appearances are also made by Illuminate, Eric C, Datin, Bumps INF, SHEENA, Lavosier and Angie Rose. Buy the album on iTunes.
