Ki’Shon Furlow Talks Songwriting and Making Music that Resonates

Rapper Ki’Shon Furlow spoke to Rapzilla at SXSW to talk about his songwriting style and how he reaches people with his music.

He said he’s taking the time to get into writing songs for other people. Furlow wanted to experience what it’s like to write in other genres.

“I have a degree in English…so I think I have a solid foundation in writing,” he said of his love in using words to convey a message. “Learning to help write and bringing a record to sound more general market.”

Furlow also explained how he reaches certain demographics with his music. “Every artist has their own story,” said the emcee regarding how music spreads. “Being an artist is like telling your story, your way.”

He said your music can resonate for anyone in any walk of life.
