Surf Gvng recently chatted with Rapzilla about working with Christian hip-hop heavyweights Lecrae and Thi’sl.

They said meeting Thi’sl was an accident that occurred while they were looking for a PR. They wound up using his PR, and that led them to helping Thi’sl out later on.

“Thi’sl needed some kind of thing to happen, and we were able to make it happen,” they said. “We ended up in the same car for like three hours, and that three hours turned into the whole weekend.”

They also shared that they had an opportunity to open up for Lecrae, Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, and Israel Houghton and the New Breed.

Surf Gvng shared that their humbleness and their good spirit and attitude made the whole experience worthwhile. Instead of show openers, they went on right before Lecrae.

“We went on literally three minutes before Lecrae went on the stage because we were able to build and relationship with [the event promoter] more than just music.”
