Sean Simmonds Releases New Album ‘Borne IDentity’

Sean Simmonds has released his 3rd studio album, Borne IDentity online today, on Xist Music/Malaco. Featuring guest appearances by Derek Minor, JGivens, recent Kirk Franklin-signee Christon Gray, and Xist Music label mates Adia, Swift, and Gemstones, it is a sleek mesh of Christian Hip Hop & R&B. Featuring production from several names familiar to Christian Hip Hop fans, including J.R. & G-Roc, as well as Blaze the Champ (Day 26, Adia), it also showcases several tracks from sonic architect Anthem (2 Chainz, Cy-Hi The Prince, B.o.B, ADD+), as well as Sean Simmonds himself. Standouts include the smash singles “MasterPiece” and “So Many Levels” featuring JGivens and Gemstones.

Borne IDentity deals with the journey we all must take in discovering our true identity as sons and daughters of the King of Kings. Describing the work as an evolution in the sound fans have known him for, Sean also believes the message is a relevant one for the times:

“At some point we all have to wrestle with the question of who we are and what we were meant to be, and there are so many messages that tell us we are less-than, or completely different from the people we were created to be. The theme of this project is about uncovering that true identity in Christ, and unleashing the royalty that He breathed into each of us – before we were even born!”
