Lecrae nominated for two 2015 Billboard Music Awards

Finalists for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards were announced on Tuesday, and Lecrae earned two nominations.

Lecrae will compete against Casting Crowns, Hillsong United, MercyMe and Newsboys for Top Christian Artist. His album Anomaly will also face Casting Crowns’ Thrive, MercyMe’s Welcome to the New, NEEDTOBREATHE’s Rivers in the Wasteland and Chris Tomlin’s Love Ran Red for Top Christian Album.

Already this year, Lecrae has won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Messengers,” track No. 15 on Anomaly, which also won him a Stellar Award for Rap/Hip-Hop CD of The Year.

In 2013, the Billboard Music Awards nominated Lecrae’s album Gravity for Top Christian Album, but Eye On It by tobyMac won. Here is Lecrae’s interview with Billboard two years ago at the award show.
