Tedashii recently sat down with VladTV and expressed his thoughts about a comedy on Adult Swim called “Black Jesus”.
IMDB confirms that Black Jesus is: The hi-jinks of a street-smart savior living in modern day Compton, on a mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood with his small group of followers.
Tedashii expresses that he understands that the show is a comedy and not a genuine depiction of Jesus Christ. At around 2:52, Tedashii states that “he knows his bible well enough to know the difference between who this guy is playing (the lead actor) and who I genuinely believe in.”
Later on in the interview, VladTV and Tedashii discuss the depiction of Jesus as a white male given the cultural makeup of the Middle East. Instead of harping on the accuracy of our beloved savior Tedashii focuses on what Jesus has done for us.
I wanted to pose this question for my Christian massive, do you find the title “Black Jesus” offensive or pure comedy? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.
