Female Christian Rapper LaToria to Release Free Album

Emerging from Dallas, Texas, up and coming Christian emcee LaToria is gearing up for the release of her latest project ‘The Long Walk Vol. 1‘—set to release on October 15th as a free download on Rapzilla.com as well as for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and other digital outlets.

The Long Walk Vol. 1‘ is the first of a series of albums that explore the different facets of the Christian journey. For the believer it will serve as an encouraging soundtrack for those who have put their trust in Christ. For the unbeliever, it will serve as a window seat into the life of everyday Christians and some of their experiences. “The goal of this album is to introduce myself and my sound to new listeners. As one of the few active Christian Female Rappers, I want to join the ranks of those women who have chosen to step forward and be a positive and Godly example for our fellow peers and young ladies in the Christian Hip Hop community. My hope is that the music is diverse enough for anyone to be able to connect with and appreciate the album.”

It has something to offer all types of urban music and Hip Hop fans. With diversity of sound and features, ‘The Long Walk Vol. 1‘ includes a blend of smooth soulful songs like “For Your Love” featuring Sean C. Johnson and the soul and pop influenced, “Constant” featuring Mixed Bag Recording artist TJ Pompeo. It also includes Hip- Hop infused with EDM in the electrifying song “Watts,” Trap influenced songs like “Connect” featuring fellow Dallas artists B. Holy and Meek and even a bass pounding anthem, “Loose RMX”—which is accompanied by a music video shot and directed by Eshon Burgundy of Good Look Films and Humble Beast Records. The album explores different aspects of the Christian walk from curiosity, to conviction, encouragement to resolutions on relationship status and LaToria’s approach to each song unveils where she personally lands on each subject matter.

Ordinarily a laid back person, LaToria’s high-energy is unmistakable when it comes to her music and faith. “For the majority of my life I’ve been an athlete, so the aggressive side of me is like second nature. I am passionate about people experiencing freedom in Christ and committed to communicating that in my music. I know that it’s rare to hear that from a female artist but I believe that’s the space the Lord has me in and I’m following Him every step of the way. Whatever it takes to properly get the message of each song across, I’m willing to explore that musically.” This album provides some insight into the life of a believer from a female perspective.
