R&B soul singer Mali Music released his sophomore album “Mali Is” on Tuesday to a rousing response by his faithful fans. The project performed well, peaking at #1 on the iTunes and Amazon R&B charts. It also placed #7 on the iTunes overall albums and #5 on overall on Amazon.

Mali, who is notorious for long absences between music releases, used this 12-song album as a re-introduction to his core audience and a formal introduction to a brand new mainstream audience. Bolstered by appearances on mainstream venues such as American Idol and 106 & Park, Mali made the decision to redefine his demographic, signing with RCA and leaving the solely Christian audience. While predictably drawing both the praise & criticism of his followers, Mali has experienced renewed success and exposure. Congratulations and continued success to Mali for his chart positions!
