It’s like Captain Marvel versus Rogue or Chun-Li versus Cammy. Maybe it’s even like Charlotte Flair vs Sasha Banks. There are a few times in history where two ladies have went toe to toe in a way that elevated the game and put their male counterparts on notice. Such was the case when 4EVA crossed pens with Pristavia at the Overflow Battle Rap League groundbreaking event “Confirmation: Valor” that went down this past January. This was the first time two women have battled in the history of the young league. I wondered how the ladies would fair on a card […]
City Takers is a well-known ministry in Atlanta, GA. Fulfilling the mission to love a city, draw a city, and build a city through various outreaches. Pastor Scott Free seeks to raise up urban missionaries who transform cities through hip hop, love, and Jesus. A story known by very few is that when Hulvey was six years old, he and his parents while living in Elijay GA, would drive down to Atlanta to serve with Scott and his missions team, even before City Takers was established. Fast forward 14 years later, before Hulvey moves to Atlanta, his parents suggest he […]
The Social Club Misfits tour came to Atlanta and believe me when I tell you it was lit. Reach Records artist Hulvey opened the show and did songs from his ep’s Prelude and BRKNHRT. Tommy Royale kept the energy going with a super exciting set. Social Club closed the night and completely shut it down doing various songs including everything from “Pizza Party” all the way up to “Everytime.” Marty also mentioned that some of the songs they were doing had never been performed live before. Check out these pics from the show.
The Family Ties Tour featuring nobigdyl., Canon, Steven Malcolm, Kurtis Hoppie, and King Chav made its stop in Atlanta, Ga last night. Co-Heir Collective opened up the show with a high energy performance. Kurtis Hoppie kept the vibes going and the host of the night, DJ Mykael V kept the crowd engaged. King Chav performed songs from his newly released project The Leftovers. Steven Malcolm performed “Fuego” and other songs from his album The Second City. In the middle of his set, he offered a heartfelt prayer for Juice Wrld’s family and friends in light of the artist passing away […]

Logic has never been found to shy away from controversial topics, ranging from racism and immigration to relationships and depression, even releasing a song on suicide in 2017 that landed No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although admitting in previous interviews that he is not a religious person and doesn’t believe in organized religion, the second track of his retirement album, No Pressure, has overt theistic themes and discusses God, something he does not do often. “[‘Hit My Line’] is a conversation between me and God and me kinda speaking to the heavens like, ‘Yo, this is what’s going […]
Young up-and-coming Texas artist 350 released a new single today, “East Side” featuring 1K Phew “After our wedding, my wife and I moved on the block her father was raised on. Being raised in the gang life, her father was quickly caught in a cycle of drug abuse and violence which cut his life short. This is not only to pay respect to my father in-law, but to show that God can take any place or any person and turn it for his glory and our good.” Click here to Stream and Buy the song on any platform. After much inactivity over the last few months, WHATUPRG is seemingly back with a vengeance. He just announced his project New Hollywood will be dropping on September 25th. Then today he revealed that he is no longer with the indie tribe. collective. The move has shocked many fans reacting so far but from a business standpoint makes sense. Even though indie tribe. is not a label, RG is with Reach Records, not exactly an indie situation. We’ll speculate no further on whether other things are a factor and wait to hear more news. For now, this is what we got – […]
Last night Lecrae revealed plans to retire from releasing music soon during our live interview. We had a really great time with Christian rap artist and Reach Records founder Lecrae on our Community During Chaos Instagram live session alongside other hip hop heads Coop and CJ Luckey. The interview with Lecrae was an interesting one and a great experience as he spoke about several pressing issues ranging from Black Lives Matter, the “White Blessing” interview, the LGBT community, his new album Restoration to be expected alongside his book, Reach Record’s 2020 Summer Playlist, and many more. Towards the end of […]
In episode one of “Community During Chaos,” Angie Rose talked about her experience in the Bronx with her organization Unstoppable Foundation. Her non-profit focuses on providing food and essentials to areas of need, mostly working within Puerto Rico. During the riots after George Floyd’s death, however, Rose and her organization returned to her home in the Bronx. “We had never seen in New York what we saw in Puerto Rico, and that was the first time I was like ‘Oh my God, this is the same thing’. We have to figure out how to get pallets of food, how to fit […]
The dopest songs are commonly a collaboration of writer teams, producers, and musicians. These are producers and artists that have shown us the importance of carrying your own weight and killing it! Christian rap is no different… *Criteria is based on artists and producers working on a full project or roughly 10 songs. No self-produced artist either.* Zaytoven & Lecrae – Let The Trap Say Amen Lecrae and Zaytoven took us on a ride thru the trap. Lecrae’s concepts over Zaytoven’s piano keys and trap symphonies were cultivating and edgy. The lead single “Get Back Right” started the ignition and […]

“Down” by Marqus Anthony featuring Avila and Porsha Love is a dominant, hard-hitting banger. The Avila production goes crazy, and the young producer sauces on the hook as well. This diverse young trio unites in an awesome way to encourage people going through downtimes that better is available in Christ. Listen to Marqus Anthony Below: Buy or stream here.
Christian Hip Hop artist D. R33D has released his newest single “Free”. The song features Apoc and TC aka The Collector as the trio speak on systemic racism and whether or not religion is a part of the problem. “Systemic racism is real in our country and, sadly, a lot of Christians in the American church contribute to the problem” states D. R33D. “I used to be a racist, but I am free from it, change can happen. That is why I won’t be idle and silent about it.” Listen to D. R33D Below:
