Congrats Cardec Drums! We asked Jacob aka Cardec Drums to give us some insight on how he created this interesting remix and here is what he had to say…
“I wanted to do something different but still maintain the same energy of the original track. I’m a big fan of Adele and always wanted to sample her single “Rumor Has It,” so I chopped it up. I love this track. I’m a big fan of the southern hip hop/trap sound but I also love that real old school hip hop vibe. Real gritty sounding and just raw. With this track I wanted to mesh the best of both worlds. So I sped up the tempo to fit the vocals and it just fit perfectly. It added this call and response effect with the sample saying “rumor has it” and Lecrae saying “I know” It just made it what it is. Also with the simplicity of the track it let the vocals and the message be the center of the song.”
