Hawaii rapper Thomas Iannucci and Tongan-American artist seni. have teamed up to release a powerful new track, “Kuleana (Paradise).” The song, produced by J. Crum, tackles a subject rarely touched on but deeply personal to both artists: the rampant drug addiction, suicide rate, and violence within Hawaii and the broader Polynesian & Pacific Island community. “My whole life I was told that Hawaii is supposed to be some sort of perfect paradise,” said Iannucci in a statement. “But looking around me, I never saw paradise. I saw a lot of pain, and drug abuse, and I even saw a lot […]
Thomas Iannucci has partnered with up and coming rap & pop artist Montythehokage to release their new single, “Take Me Back,” featuring the Kapa’a Middle School Choir. Produced by veteran hip hop producer and emcee J. Crum, “Take Me Back” is a catchy, soulful tune that finds Iannucci reminiscing about the “good old days,” like the times spent out at the beach, or having dinner with his extended family, while Monty, backed by the local Kapa’a middle school choir, croons about wanting to go back to those days. It is both a unique snapshot of a life spent in Hawaii, […]

On August 23, Andy Mineo released a musical-podcast hybrid called Work in Progress. The project is unlike any released by the artist before, compiling several unreleased tracks into a single release with a podcast series used to create additional conversation. Whereas Mineo’s earlier releases accounted for a single season, Work in Progress gives listeners a more complete display of Mineo’s artistic evolution. Whether it be the fear of aging, a celebration of marriage, or musical experimentation, the album is a thematic feast and might be Mineo’s most powerful project yet. Perhaps the most crucial element of Work in Progress is […]
NF recently sat down for a conversation with Ill Will at NME.com this week. Being someone who tends to be pretty vulnerable on the mic, NF found some space here in front of a camera to be real. Considering himself to be a quite negative person and preparing for the worst, NF says he finds it thrilling that he outsold Chance The Rapper’s debut album ‘The Big Day’ in the first week of sales with his new album The Search. Nate also shares how his perception changes the older he gets. He looks back on the song How Could You Leave Us […]
There is so much music published that music themes and ideas are bound to overlap. Mainstream and Christian Rap artists have songs that overlap in the general theme as well. Today, I’ll be looking at “Rose Gold” by Lil Mosey and “Rosegold” by WHATUPRG. Listen to Lil Mosey Below (WARNING: This song has explicit language): Looking past all the sexual references, Lil Mosey wrote a self-image rapper song. The soft melody, […]
