City Takers is a well-known ministry in Atlanta, GA. Fulfilling the mission to love a city, draw a city, and build a city through various outreaches. Pastor Scott Free seeks to raise up urban missionaries who transform cities through hip hop, love, and Jesus. A story known by very few is that when Hulvey was six years old, he and his parents while living in Elijay GA, would drive down to Atlanta to serve with Scott and his missions team, even before City Takers was established. Fast forward 14 years later, before Hulvey moves to Atlanta, his parents suggest he […]
The Social Club Misfits tour came to Atlanta and believe me when I tell you it was lit. Reach Records artist Hulvey opened the show and did songs from his ep’s Prelude and BRKNHRT. Tommy Royale kept the energy going with a super exciting set. Social Club closed the night and completely shut it down doing various songs including everything from “Pizza Party” all the way up to “Everytime.” Marty also mentioned that some of the songs they were doing had never been performed live before. Check out these pics from the show.

Aklesso, V. Rose, and Parris Chariz were three of the performers at Rapzilla’s Light Work Event at A3C in Atlanta. The three of them did their thing at the show. Aklesso was an uncontained ball of energy while V. Rose added a well-needed change of pace to the hip-hop fest. Parris moved about the stage with his signature style and appeared with a few other artists later on too. Our photographer for the week, Barry E. Daly took these amazing photos.

Fisher is featured on his new album, “In the Ruins of Dreamland.” The song was produced by Capital Kings collaborator Eli Ramzy and features Staten Island legend HeeSun Lee as well as BRM and GiGi of AFTL. As the last song on the album’s tracklist, it serves as a reminder that God will have the final word. Listen to A.K.A. Fisher Below:
Spence 4Hire dropped his new track “REAL” and here’s what he had to say: “The song theme is centered around the struggle being very real…but so is our God. Although I consider myself a wordsmith and lyricist, I’ve opted out of those strengths in this song, for what I believe to be a greater purpose. This song pioneers true Worshiphop. The function of a worship song is to lead listeners into active worship, connect with, and focus on God, usually in a worship setting. Worship songs are simple, repetitive, and easy for anyone to join in with upon hearing for the first time.” […]

Over the summer Dee-1 joined us on Community During Chaos to talk about his at the time upcoming track “Racist Christians.” He knew the song would be controversial but in reality, the song had a simple, yet important message. “Amidst talks of racial tension, ‘Racist Christians’, it’s time someone made a song that says it’s a complete contradiction to be a racist and a Christian. We have a long history in the church of blatant examples of racism and people feeling like it’s separate.” He continued, “I have never experienced racism in the church.” But he added the caveat of, […]
