City Takers is a well-known ministry in Atlanta, GA. Fulfilling the mission to love a city, draw a city, and build a city through various outreaches. Pastor Scott Free seeks to raise up urban missionaries who transform cities through hip hop, love, and Jesus. A story known by very few is that when Hulvey was six years old, he and his parents while living in Elijay GA, would drive down to Atlanta to serve with Scott and his missions team, even before City Takers was established. Fast forward 14 years later, before Hulvey moves to Atlanta, his parents suggest he […]
The Social Club Misfits tour came to Atlanta and believe me when I tell you it was lit. Reach Records artist Hulvey opened the show and did songs from his ep’s Prelude and BRKNHRT. Tommy Royale kept the energy going with a super exciting set. Social Club closed the night and completely shut it down doing various songs including everything from “Pizza Party” all the way up to “Everytime.” Marty also mentioned that some of the songs they were doing had never been performed live before. Check out these pics from the show.
The Family Ties Tour featuring nobigdyl., Canon, Steven Malcolm, Kurtis Hoppie, and King Chav made its stop in Atlanta, Ga last night. Co-Heir Collective opened up the show with a high energy performance. Kurtis Hoppie kept the vibes going and the host of the night, DJ Mykael V kept the crowd engaged. King Chav performed songs from his newly released project The Leftovers. Steven Malcolm performed “Fuego” and other songs from his album The Second City. In the middle of his set, he offered a heartfelt prayer for Juice Wrld’s family and friends in light of the artist passing away […]
Uzuhan, Phil J., Kurtis Hoppie & Swaizy all performed at the Light Work event at A3C. It was great to see these underrated artists kill it for a big audience. Swaizy made it on the bill last minute after winning the Critique Friday session. It was great to see these highly underrated artists in the same spot. Our photographer for the week, Barry E. Daly took some of these amazing photos.
Aklesso, V. Rose, and Parris Chariz were three of the performers at Rapzilla’s Light Work Event at A3C in Atlanta. The three of them did their thing at the show. Aklesso was an uncontained ball of energy while V. Rose added a well-needed change of pace to the hip-hop fest. Parris moved about the stage with his signature style and appeared with a few other artists later on too. Our photographer for the week, Barry E. Daly took these amazing photos.
The “Beyond the Grave” by Stephen King highlights the fact that all of us need to consider the choices we make while we are alive before we die and face judgment. Young people need to know that the choices they make affect not only their lives but also the lives of everyone around them. The song is inspired by the “Beyond the Grave” play at Victory Fellowship, which has taken on something of a cult status among some teenagers in the New Orleans area, tells the story of how a group of high school students’ lives is impacted and changed […]

I can remember being extremely young and seeing the music video for “Jesus Muzik” with Lecrae and Trip Lee in like 2006. I was immediately in awe with the cars, scenes, but most importantly the clothes. With baggy tees and snapbacks that really defined that whole era, it was clear that the sub-genre had something to say when it came to their outfit choice. Even today, fashion pioneers in the space such as Parris Chariz, Jay-Way, and Tommy Royale repeatedly turn heads whenever they have a new post on IG or Twitter. It’s really exciting to see where the sense […]
