City Takers is a well-known ministry in Atlanta, GA. Fulfilling the mission to love a city, draw a city, and build a city through various outreaches. Pastor Scott Free seeks to raise up urban missionaries who transform cities through hip hop, love, and Jesus. A story known by very few is that when Hulvey was six years old, he and his parents while living in Elijay GA, would drive down to Atlanta to serve with Scott and his missions team, even before City Takers was established. Fast forward 14 years later, before Hulvey moves to Atlanta, his parents suggest he […]
The Social Club Misfits tour came to Atlanta and believe me when I tell you it was lit. Reach Records artist Hulvey opened the show and did songs from his ep’s Prelude and BRKNHRT. Tommy Royale kept the energy going with a super exciting set. Social Club closed the night and completely shut it down doing various songs including everything from “Pizza Party” all the way up to “Everytime.” Marty also mentioned that some of the songs they were doing had never been performed live before. Check out these pics from the show.
The Family Ties Tour featuring nobigdyl., Canon, Steven Malcolm, Kurtis Hoppie, and King Chav made its stop in Atlanta, Ga last night. Co-Heir Collective opened up the show with a high energy performance. Kurtis Hoppie kept the vibes going and the host of the night, DJ Mykael V kept the crowd engaged. King Chav performed songs from his newly released project The Leftovers. Steven Malcolm performed “Fuego” and other songs from his album The Second City. In the middle of his set, he offered a heartfelt prayer for Juice Wrld’s family and friends in light of the artist passing away […]
Uzuhan, Phil J., Kurtis Hoppie & Swaizy all performed at the Light Work event at A3C. It was great to see these underrated artists kill it for a big audience. Swaizy made it on the bill last minute after winning the Critique Friday session. It was great to see these highly underrated artists in the same spot. Our photographer for the week, Barry E. Daly took some of these amazing photos.
Aklesso, V. Rose, and Parris Chariz were three of the performers at Rapzilla’s Light Work Event at A3C in Atlanta. The three of them did their thing at the show. Aklesso was an uncontained ball of energy while V. Rose added a well-needed change of pace to the hip-hop fest. Parris moved about the stage with his signature style and appeared with a few other artists later on too. Our photographer for the week, Barry E. Daly took these amazing photos.
He’s arguably Nigeria’s most versatile Christian music rapper. GamiE is poised to spread the gospel through his blend of Hip-hop and afrobeat sounds. Since the start of 2021, GamiE has consistently released songs every week for months and shot videos for each song. He charged himself to make a song that summarizes the message he hears from the pulpit every week. This he calls Sermon Notes. In April, he compiled some of these tracks into a body of work titled Sermon Notes, Vol.1. A 13 track album available on all digital stores. After releasing several tracks, he was featured on Clout […]
KJ-52 dropped his latest single “Glory to God” with long-time producer, Poetics, as the first single for the upcoming album, KJ-52 vs. Jonah. A video for the single shows the internal battle we fight against ourselves. UFC fighter Niko “The Hybrid” Price recently used KJ-52’s song as his walkout song during a UFC event. “Glory to God” is the second radio release in 2021 from KJ-52, whose latest collection of new music was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. “One Year Ago,” the debut single from the album of new material, was released in February. In addition to continuing to write […]
Every year Rapzilla names 15+ new and upcoming artists to our freshmen class. These artists range from moderately known and on the rise to, unknown and about to blow. Well, this story focuses on a duo comprised of brothers Jacob and Manwell Lundy known as the group – Lundi. You may not have heard of Lundi yet, but we believed wholeheartedly in 2021 and beyond, you would definitely get to know the name. So far, they are on that trajectory. Despite having only four singles out, they managed to ink a distribution deal with V. Rose’s Indie West and even […]
This Rapzillas Freshmen 2021 class is different! While Rapzilla and 13 of the artists were down in Atlanta, GA for a few days, aside from the freshmen concert and BBQ, we shot a bunch of videos. Three of those videos were the Rapzilla Cyphers. The second cypher features Coop, Kham, Red Tips, Scootie Wop & tylerhateslife. The beat was produced by 100 Graham. Watch the 2021 Rapzilla Freshmen Cypher Below:
Back in 2019, the rapper DAX dropped a song where he went direct to God and asked hard-hitting questions that many struggle with. The music video saw DAX as the “Christ-like” figure in the video as he was burdened in carrying a cross. The message was seemingly that the call to believe in Jesus was a burden akin to the cross and a tough one at that. At points in the song, DAX expresses his anger and frustration toward God, even dropping some choice words that would make many reading this upset. The video went viral and at this point […]
